In 1972, my grandmother Soon opened a hair salon at 364 S Maple Drive with her sister Kay. They built the business. Word of mouth and recommendations led to big Hollywood names becoming their clients including Lucille Ball, Priscilla Presley, and Betty White.
Over fifty years later, my partner Mike and I are running a coffee and flower shop out of the same address. Light and bright, roughly 2,084 sq ft with a big windowline facing Maple, at Maple & Olympic. Same instinct: one place, done extremely well where people leave feeling a little more taken care of.
Every stem is sourced with intention. Build your own bouquet, stem by stem, or grab one of our premade bouquets ready to take home. See our flower prices. The same care goes into what's on the menu: organic ingredients from the Santa Monica and Mar Vista Farmers Market, fair trade coffee, Tehachapi Grain Project flour in our pastries, gluten free options available.
We'll have a small menu of espresso, tea, seasonal drinks, breakfast burritos, banana bread, blueberry poppyseed muffins, and black sesame toffee crunch cookies. From the pastries to the art on the walls, we are proud of everything we have selected to be in our store.
Mike is a chef, trained at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, with kitchen experience from Spago in Beverly Hills to Blackberry Mountain in Tennessee, and he’s also a musician. I’m a software engineer by day (I built this website!) with a background in fashion and beauty at Town & Country magazine, Beautycounter, and Glossier, and in 2015 I ate my way through Jonathan Gold’s 101 Best Restaurants on my LA food blog, Gilty Pleasures.
After ten years away in a 1974 Airstream and in New York City, Mexico City, Austin, the Pacific Northwest, Europe, and Tennessee, we moved back to LA last July, realizing there’s no better place to call home. See You Soon is our tribute to my grandmother Soon, who ran Kay’s Beauty Salon on this corner for about fifty years.

Designed by Alex Al-Bader, a Spanish-born designer running Soler from her atelier in Notting Hill, London. Made-to-order dresses and separates in silk and hand-selected fabric, each piece cut and finished in house.
We met Alex through my mom, who's known her for years. A trip to London for us always includes a stop at her studio in Notting Hill.

Marivé is run by three Italian friends hand-crafting Friulane, the iconic Venetian slipper once worn by gondoliers and nobles, in small family-owned bottegas. Made with real velvet and recycled bicycle-tire soles, each pair is hand-stitched using techniques passed down through generations.
We found Marivé through the Venice Street Fair and loved the mix of European design craft and quality with American creativity and ingenuity.

Gaby is a healer and folk herbalist who hand-crafts flower essences under GA Healing: small-batch remedies made from flowers she grows and forages, blending plant medicine with her work as a clairvoyant and Reiki practitioner.
I met Gaby years ago, when both of us were working at Glossier in New York, and now we're both back home in California.

Mycelium is organized by chef and host Asher Radziner, running both coffee pop-ups and exclusive dinner parties. Each one is custom curated, with sustainability and adaptability to people, ingredients, and place at the center.
We know Asher through his mom Robin, whom we love, and met them both through my mom Namhee on the beach in Kauai. We later spent time at our friends Black Pumas’ studio, Electric Deluxe Records in Austin, helping bring Robin’s music to life.

We met Nina in Venice. When she's not making clothes, she tends bar at RVR, a 2026 James Beard Foundation semifinalist, and one of our favorite restaurants in LA.

We met Mark on Sifnos, Greece, during his first residency on the island at Verina Astra. He just finished his third residency there this summer.

Catherine Bergin designs Rooni, a Santa Monica beaded jewelry line born from her search for pieces she couldn't find anywhere else — necklaces and anklets in a mix of everyday core designs and one-of-a-kind signature pieces.
I've known Catherine for a long time. We met in elementary school in Santa Monica!

Joyce is a Los Angeles painter and collage artist, known for her upbeat "UNstill Life" series and her "Personal Archaeologies" collages. Trees, gardens, orbs, bunnies, and birds are her recurring subjects, rendered across painting, collage, and ceramics.
We met Joyce through friends who used to live in Santa Monica and now live in Ventura. I loved checking out her studio. She has a lifetime of work!

Devon shoots entirely on film. He learned focus on a medium format Pentax, judged distance on a Rollei rangefinder, and read exposure on a Leica M3 with no light meter. Now it's feel and intention: old cameras and coastal California light.
We met Devon through friends when we did our first popup in June, and loved his art immediately. We're thrilled he's back showing his work in our space.

Emma is an art critic, editor, and artist from Los Angeles. After a decade as an editor at Artforum, she left to paint full time out of her Atwater Village atelier, "The Barn," making figurative paintings inspired by old family photos and the California landscape. She has also created album art for Horsepower, Runnner, and Bones Forever.
I met Emma on the bus to school in 7th grade. She is the best. She even helped design and hand-draw the See You Soon logo. Thanks Emma!
